Humanitarian Outreach and Medical Mission of Agape Children’s Home

On April 24, 2026, the NGO A Hand to Humanity (AH2) conducted a comprehensive field visit to the Agape Children’s Home in Ekounou, Yaoundé. The mission integrated material support with critical healthcare services to address the immediate needs of the orphaned children.

The intervention successfully delivered a significant inventory of food and material aid, including staple items like rice and salt, as well as clothing and hygiene supplies. In tandem with the donations, a mobile clinic was established to provide health screenings. During the outreach, a total of 23 children were present at the Agape Children’s Home.

Out of this group, the medical team successfully consulted and screened 15 children, representing approximately 65.2% of the total population at the home that day. This clinical effort resulted in the consultation of 15 children, including diagnostic tests for Malaria, HIV, and Hepatitis B and C. Beyond general screenings, the mission identified four specific cases requiring specialized medical follow-up for cardiac, auditory, and dermatological concerns. The outreach concluded with the provision of an Immediate First Aid Toolkit and essential medications, ensuring the orphanage management is equipped to handle minor health issues and continue prescribed treatments. This mission highlights the importance of localized humanitarian efforts in improving the well-being and health outcomes of vulnerable populations in the Center region.
