Five years.
One conviction.
Lives transformed.
A registered humanitarian NGO, founded in Yaoundé in 2020 by Rev. Peter Nillong — operating across two missions, three countries, and one shared belief: that compassion paired with rigor changes outcomes.
Holistic care for stronger communities.
A Hand to Humanity (AH2) is a humanitarian non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting holistic healing, good health, and compassionate service for vulnerable and underserved communities.
Through community-based programs, AH2 works to support orphans and vulnerable children, promote rehabilitation and reintegration for individuals affected by drug and substance abuse, and strengthen community wellbeing through health services, WASH initiatives, disaster risk reduction, and humanitarian assistance.
Our initiatives contribute directly to global development priorities — including good health and well-being, access to clean water and sanitation, gender equality, quality education, and reduced inequalities.
Guided by strong monitoring, evaluation, and partnerships, A Hand to Humanity works to create inclusive and lasting impact — where every individual has the opportunity to heal, grow, and contribute to a better future.
Why we built A Hand to Humanity.
When we founded A Hand to Humanity, our vision was simple but powerful: to extend compassion, hope, and practical support to individuals and communities facing some of life's most difficult challenges.
Over the years, we have witnessed the devastating impact of drug abuse, poverty, health inequalities, and social exclusion. At the same time, we have also witnessed the incredible strength and resilience that exists within communities when people come together to support one another.
Our mission is not only to provide assistance but to empower individuals with the knowledge, resources, and opportunities they need to rebuild their lives and contribute positively to society.
We believe that lasting change happens when compassion meets action. Through partnerships, education, and community engagement, we continue to work toward a future where every individual can live with dignity, health, and hope.
I invite you to join us in this journey of transformation and service.
From a single visit, to a registered NGO.
A Hand to Humanity was established in 2020 with the goal of responding to growing social challenges affecting young people and vulnerable communities across Cameroon.
From the beginning, the organization focused on raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and its devastating impact on students, families, and society. Through seminars, community programs, and educational initiatives, AH2 has brought together educators, healthcare professionals, community leaders, and faith-based organizations to work collaboratively toward prevention and support.
What started in Yaoundé has grown into a recognized humanitarian organization, with field operations across Cameroon and representation in the United States and Canada. Our work continues to expand as we develop programs aimed at strengthening communities and empowering individuals to overcome life-threatening challenges.
Five years of growth, grounded in conviction.
From a small community awareness initiative to a recognized humanitarian NGO — operating across three countries with partnerships including the Ministry of Health of Cameroon, CADCA, ISSUP, and local youth organizations.

What does A Hand to Humanity do?
We are a registered humanitarian NGO operating across Cameroon, the United States, and Canada. Our work focuses on two axes: drug prevention and recovery (from community awareness to medical detox and social reintegration) and orphanage and child welfare (healthcare, school supplies, hygiene support for 130+ orphanages visited since 2020). -
When was A Hand to Humanity founded?
A Hand to Humanity was founded in 2020 by Rev. Peter Nillong and registered under the Cameroon Ministry of Territorial Administration. International representations in the United States and Canada were established in 2024 to support donor engagement and global partnerships. -
How does A Hand to Humanity fight drug abuse?
Through a four-stage integrated program: prevention (community awareness, school seminars), treatment (medical detox and supervised withdrawal), psychological support (individual and group counseling), and reintegration (family mediation, vocational pathways). Our methods follow ISSUP and CADCA standards. -
How can individuals support the organization?
Three primary pathways: donate (one-time or recurring, via our donate page or Mobile Money for local donors), volunteer (field, remote, or skill-based), or partner (institutional, corporate, or community partnerships). Our offices in Cameroon, USA, and Canada coordinate donor engagement worldwide. -
Is A Hand to Humanity financially transparent?
Yes. 84% of every donation reaches programme delivery (healthcare, orphanages, recovery, education). 11% covers field operations. 5% covers administration. All numbers are published in our annual report and verifiable on request. We are registered, audited, and accountable. -
Where can I see the impact of my support?
Every donor receives an automatic receipt and is added to our monthly impact newsletter — with field stories, photos, and verifiable updates from Cameroon. Annual reports are public, and donors may request specific program impact summaries by contacting us directly.
