Drug Abuse Awareness Seminar in Cameroon – Youth Prevention & Advocacy Initiative

March 20, 2024 @ 8:00 am – March 27, 2024 @ 5:00 pm
A national awareness seminar organized with the Ministry of Social Affairs to address the rising impact of drug abuse among youth in Cameroon, featuring expert insights and community engagement.
The Ministry of Social Affairs in Cameroon, in collaboration with A Hand to Humanity, organized a high-impact seminar addressing the growing crisis of drug abuse among young people.
Held in both Douala and Yaoundé in March 2024, this initiative brought together stakeholders, community leaders, and youth advocates to explore the devastating effects of substance abuse on health, education, and socio-economic development.
During the seminar, participants were presented with alarming data on drug use trends among youth in Cameroon, highlighting the urgent need for preventive action and community-based solutions.
A key moment of the event was the presentation by Bro Peter Nillong, promoter of A Hand to Humanity, who delivered a powerful session on:
“A Biblical Perspective on Fighting Substance Abuse”
His message emphasized the importance of moral guidance, community support, and holistic healing in overcoming addiction and protecting the next generation.
This seminar reinforced the importance of collaboration between government institutions, NGOs, families, and communities to build a safer and healthier future for Cameroon’s youth.
